For a different take on Japan’s winter nights, head up to Jukkoku Pass in Shizuoka Prefecture for MANTEN 1059 ILLUMINATION, where the mountain summit becomes a glowing nighttime wonderland.
Held at an altitude of 770 meters, the event combines the natural beauty of the night sky with panoramic views and carefully designed illumination. The panoramic terrace is transformed with blue lighting, creating an atmospheric setting where the stars above meet the lights of the landscape below.
There is more to explore inside the summit station, too. On the second floor, MANTEN STAR TERRACE uses projections and laser displays to create a starry-sky-themed experience. The journey to the summit is also part of the attraction, with the panoramic cable car featuring its own combination of lights, lasers, and sound.
MANTEN 1059 ILLUMINATION takes place every Saturday from November 7, 2026, through February 27, 2027, except January 2. With the crisp winter air, mountain scenery, and night views, it offers a memorable way to experience Jukkoku Pass after dark.
