Recently, the hotel underwent some changes that have positively contributed to the environmental and local community. In its lobby, the facility has an area dedicated to the Yambaru National Park in Okinawa, which was recently named a UNESCO natural heritage site. The entire lobby area is forest-themed, with unique Okinawa trees and plants that you can learn about during a tour of the hotel.

You may also notice some beautiful star-shaped, fluorescent lanterns around the lobby. These light fixtures are made by local artists and customers during the Yambaru Art Festival when the hotel hosts an exhibition onsite.

Oriental Hotel Okinawa Resort & Spa partners with a number of small local businesses, and visitors can enjoy the benefits of these partnerships through activities such as visiting the Nakayama Coffee Farm house and learning about authentic Okinawa coffee (includes roasting your own coffee beans!) or riding a Doronko buggy through the deep forests of Nago for a more thrilling adventure.
