South Korea's hospitality group Sono Hotels & Resorts Asia is preparing to open its first property in Japan, bringing its lifestyle-focused brand to the city of Nagoya. The new hotel, Sono Moon Nagoya, will be located just an eight-minute walk from Nagoya Station, one of the country's major transport gateways.

Sono Hotels & Resorts Asia is part of Sono International, one of South Korea's leading hospitality companies. The group manages a large global portfolio of hotels across Asia, the United States, and Europe, and also operates the airline T'way Airlines, reflecting its broader focus on integrated travel and tourism services. With more than 14,500 rooms worldwide and continued expansion planned across Asia, the company's Japan debut marks an important step in its international growth.

The upcoming Sono Moon Nagoya will be positioned as a lifestyle hotel, combining convenience with a strong sense of place. The property will sit at the meeting point between the modern high-rise district surrounding Nagoya Station and the traditional downtown area centered on Yanagibashi Central Market. This location aims to give guests easy access to both the city's contemporary energy and its longstanding local culture.

According to the company, the hotel's concept will draw inspiration from Nagoya's history, seasonal festivals, food culture, and lesser-known local stories, offering visitors a deeper connection to the destination rather than just a place to sleep.

The timing also reflects growing interest in Nagoya as a travel hub, with major international events such as the Asian Games expected to bring increased visitor demand. For travelers planning to explore central Japan, this new accommodation option is set to blend global hospitality standards with a local experience.
