Hiroshima's very own Sankeien Garden (三景園), opened in 1993, is a traditional stroll garden that can be found near Hiroshima Airport in the Mihara area.
The garden is designed into three distinct landscapes (giving rise to the 'three views' in the name). As well as mountain and country village areas, just beyond the entrance's teahouse area can be found the Ō-umi area, a large pond which represents the Seto Inland Sea. Notice the platform modelled on the one found at Miyajima's Itsukushima Shrine or observe the colourful koi carp swimming around the pond.
