If you're planning a visit to Universal Studios Japan this summer, expect more than just thrilling rides. To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the park is rolling out a collection of limited-time food, drinks, and seasonal experiences inspired by the sights and flavors of a traditional Japanese summer festival.
Running from July 1st through August 26th, the seasonal offerings accompany the park's new nighttime event, Universal Summer Matsuri Night: Neon Glow Up. While the evening entertainment promises lively performances and colorful festival vibes, the food is just as much of an attraction.
Classic Japanese festival favorites have been given the Universal treatment, including the Summer Festival Goldfish Lemon Cider, a fizzy lemon drink complete with colorful goldfish-shaped jelly, and the Super!! Chocolate Banana Churro, inspired by one of Japan's most iconic festival snacks. Other limited-time creations include a Curry Naan Yakisoba Dog, an Apple Candy-inspired apple mousse, and a peach jelly dessert designed to resemble a traditional water balloon.
Those looking to escape the summer heat will also find plenty of cooling treats around the park. Highlights include a grape frozen dessert served in an adorable My Melody and Kuromi souvenir bucket, a peach and lemon Minion Frappé, and a blood orange frozen soda inspired by the park's villains. Cooling merchandise, including neck rings and bottle straps with reusable ice packs, will also be available throughout the season.
For guests wanting a more relaxed break, several restaurants are introducing seasonal menus, including a hydrangea-inspired Japanese dessert at SAIDO and a refreshing cold lobster pasta at Parkside Grill.
Whether you're planning to catch the new nighttime entertainment or simply want to sample some of the park's most creative seasonal eats, Universal Studios Japan's 25th anniversary summer lineup offers plenty of limited-time treats that are as fun to photograph as they are to enjoy.
