On March 16, 2024, Ghibli Park opened the Valley of Witches.
This whimsical area is inspired by Studio Ghibli’s witch-related movies and brings the settings of Kiki’s Delivery Service, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Earwig and the Witch to life. As you explore the nature-entwined European townscape, you will feel as though you have been whisked away into an alternate realm.
Listed below are some of the area’s top attractions.
Please note that only Ghibli Park O-Sanpo Day Pass Premium holders can enter The Okino Residence, Howl's Castle, and The House of Witches.
Highlights
Kiki’s Delivery Service
The Okino Residence
The Okino Residence, or family home of Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service, is a two-story structure that features the witch’s shop where Kiki’s mother works, the living room, the kitchen, Kiki’s bedroom, and her father’s study. Together the plant life and diverse color palette create a cozy glimpse into the Okino family’s everyday life.
Guchokipanya Bakery
After Kiki leaves her childhood home, she resides at Guchokipanya Bakery. This quaint bakery has a traditional European facade and offers a delicious range of breads available for purchase. Upstairs, you can observe the attic where Kiki and her cat, Jiji, stay.
Howl’s Moving Castle
Howl’s Castle
Witness Howl’s mechanical, yet strangely animalistic castle in person! Some sections of the castle even move and occasionally emit smoke, enhancing its realism. The two-story structure is home to the living room with Calcifer’s furnace and Sophie’s room, as well as Howl’s bedroom, wardrobe, and bathroom.
Hatter's Millinery
The Hatter’s Millinery, where Sophie works in Howl’s Moving Castle, has a traditional wooden European exterior and offers visual insight into Sophie’s daily life as a hat-maker. On the first floor, the facility sells original candy and hats, and upstairs (from the courtyard) is a bookstore called Witches’ Book Stacks, where you can buy books related to witches and magic.
Earwig and the Witch
The House of Witches
This house is where Earwig, the main character from Earwig and the Witch, resides. The magical and welcoming home includes Bella Yaga’s colorful workshop and Earwig’s bedroom, as well as the library, bathroom, and kitchen.
Amusement rides
Aside from its enchanting buildings, the area also has some amusement rides, including a carousel decorated with vehicles from various Ghibli movies and a flying machine inspired by the movie Castle in the Sky. There is also a children’s play area, called Tower of Aviators, where kids can climb and observe a unique aircraft.
Eateries and shops

Located near the area’s entrance, this full-service restaurant sells baked dishes, such as pies and quiches, as well as quirky options related to the witchy ambience. The second floor has a rooftop garden.
