The "Monet Pond", which until a few years ago did not have its own name, is well hidden in the lands of Gifu Prefecture. In 2015, the pond gained fame on social media for its striking resemblance to a Claude Monet painting. Located near nemichi shrine, the clear water covered in koi fish and water lilies is a breathtaking sight.
Apparently, the spring water in this pond does not contain nutrients, which makes the pond extremely transparent. Monet's tin color constantly changes due to light reflections. The pond becomes even more impressive in early summer, when water lilies flowers are in full bloom, and in late autumn, when Japanese maple turns red.

70-minute bus ride with transfers from JR Gifu Station to Horado Kiwi Plaza to Ajisai-en (Bus Stop #12)
