언제 Late Mar 2027

Located approximately 40 kilometers southwest of Tokyo, Camp Zama is a United States army base in the cities of Zama and Sagamihara in Kanagawa Prefecture. The base grounds are home to somewhere around 300 sakura trees, and when they're at their best an annual festival is held in celebration of them.

2026 Notice: This year's Sakura Festival will be a "closed post event," meaning it will be limited to those with access to Camp Zama (U.S. government-issued identification). This includes locally hired employees and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force personnel working at Camp Zama.

Along with the beautiful blossoms to enjoy, the event also includes festival food and drinks available for purchase, music from DJs and the USARJ (U.S. Army Japan) band, and fun activities for children to partake in.

Please note that this is an open base event, so even if you're not U.S. military affiliated you can still enter the base grounds for the festival. Photo ID is required, however, so bring a passport or similar official ID document.
